The Teamsters Union today set up
informational pickets at nearly a dozen terminals operated
by Bulkmatic, the nation’s largest dry bulk carrier.
The action represents a coordinated effort by members and
staff of Locals 26, 142, 215, 391, 407, 449, 637, 705, and
773, Joint Council 25 and the International Union.
“We're turning up the heat on Bulkmatic by highlighting
the 22 Unfair Labor Practice charges that have been filed
against the company in four states,” said Michael Murphy,
Teamsters Assistant Organizing Director.
Negotiations continue to drag on at two newly organized
facilities in Belpre, Ohio, and Winston-Salem, North
Carolina.
