US Airways CSAs: Memorandum Establishes Date for Transfer of Union Affiliation

July 21, 2006

Attached is a memorandum of understanding reached by the Airline Customer Service Employee Association—IBT and CWA.

This document concerns US Airways employees’ union membership. Depending on what state you work in, you will be represented by the Teamsters (IBT) or the Communications Workers of America (CWA) through the Association. Generally, the IBT will represent employees in the west and the CWA will represent employees in the east. The memorandum contains a table that lists the designated states for each union.

This document specifies the date (October 1) when CSAs at US Airways will officially become Teamsters or CWA members. This document also outlines union membership by state.

For example, if you are a Teamster member stationed in Arizona, you will remain a Teamster member. However, if you are a Teamster member in Alabama, you will become a CWA member on October 1.

Please refer to the memorandum for further details.
