Workers at Admiral Building Supply Unanimously Vote to Join Local 25

April 23, 2008

Fifteen drivers and warehouse workers from Admiral Building Supply in Woburn, Massachusetts are now members of Teamsters Local 25 in Boston.

The bargaining unit unanimously voted on April 3 to become Teamsters. The election results were certified April 14.

"Now we have job security and a voice in the work place," Thomas MacDowell, the unit’s newly elected steward, said.

Negotiations for their first Teamster contract began last week.

"We are very happy to welcome these workers into the Local 25 family," said Local 25 President Sean O'Brien. "They came to us because they wanted the work they do to receive the recognition and respect it deserves. And soon they will have a Teamster contract that will protect their rights and provide the economic security their families need."
