This is the central point for Teamster members to volunteer to keep America safe from terrorism.

Become a Teamster First Observer™

First Observer™ is a voluntary counter-terrorism security training program designed for all Teamster members. The General President, General Secretary Treasurer, and General Executive Board, through proclamation, encourage First Observer™ training for all Teamsters.

General President Hoffa said recently “The security and well-being of the public is important and the First Observer training for Teamsters helps our members recognize potential threats and gives them the tools they need to save lives”. The IBT wants you to become a First Observer ™ You will be trained on how to Observer, Assess and Report those things you believe to be a danger to yourself, your family your community and our critical infrastructure and the foundation for our jobs.

Training Options

In Person- The First Observer™ program has been presented at many International Union and Affiliate functions and we offer the training program to all Teamsters.  If you would like a First Observer™ IBTeam member to come to your local or local function to provide training or would like additional information please send an e-mail a request by clicking -FirstObserver@teamster.org

On Line Training- Teamsters work in many industries, therefore we provide 11 different training options for various industry domains in an on-line training format.  Once you register in the on-line Training Center you can access a program of interest to you. The training is modularized therefore you do not have finish the training in one setting, you can log out and return later return later to  continue your training.
