ABF Change of Operations Decision - May 2009
Affecting Local Unions 79, 500, and 957
The following is the decision from the ABF Freight System, Inc. Multi-Region Change of Operations MR-CO-11-05/2009, which was heard Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Las Vegas, NV.
Mr. Chairman, I move the Company’s proposed Change of Operations be approved as clarified and stipulated to by the Company on the record with the following provisions.
1. The implementation of this decision shall not be effective prior to June 1, 2009.
2. As stated by the Company on the record, this change of operations shall have no adverse impact on either the Vincentown or Tampa office clerical employees. The Committee recognizes the Company’s statement on the record that the cumulative effect of this change of operations and the other recent change of operations that transferred billing functions to a central location will likewise have no adverse impact on the affected office clerical employees involved.
3. Based on the Company’s statement on the record, there shall be no lay offs as a direct result of this change of operations and the other recent change of operations that transferred billing functions to a central location.
4. This decision is not intended to be in violation of the NMFA or its Supplemental Agreements.
