Teamsters Joint Council 25 to Back Fritchey in Fifth Congressional District
Teamsters Joint Council 25 endorsed John Fritchey for the Fifth Congressional District seat left vacant by Rahm Emmanuel.
“John Fritchey has a proud history of supporting working people in the state of Illinois and the Teamsters have a proud history of supporting him,” said John T. Coli, Joint Council 25 President. “In his work in the Illinois House, John made issues that benefit working people a priority.”
As State Representative, Fritchey took bold action to protect working people. He has:
- Supported the expansion of prevailing wage laws
- Supported the Employee Classification Act
- A 97 percent lifetime labor voting record
“I am proud to have the support of Teamsters Joint Council 25, whose members are an integral part of our community,” Fritchey said. “More than 3,000 Teamsters live and work in the Fifth District, and I look forward to being a champion for the issues of working people like them in Washington, just as I’ve been in Springfield.”
Joint Council 25 represents 22 Teamster local unions with more than 100,000 members working in Chicago and its vicinity. It is an affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which represents 1.4 million hardworking men and women throughout the United States and Canada.
