FAA Begins Issuing Flight Attendant Certificates of Demonstrated Proficiency
December 29, 2004
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has begun issuing Flight Attendant Certificates of Demonstrated Proficiency. The FAA is mailing these certificates to the flight attendant’s mailing address provided by the air carrier. If you do not receive your certificate within the next few weeks, check with your air carrier to make certain that they have your most current address. If the address on record is not correct, you may have to contact the FAA directly. Flight attendants are not required to carry the certificate. However, they must present the certificate to the FAA, NTSB, or other federal agencies upon request. A reasonable period of time will be allowed to comply with any such request. For example, the FAA permits a 15-day response time. For more information, please refer to the FAA Flight Standards Information Bulletin for Air Transportation, FSAT 04-07.
