Fired Worker Rehired by Company

A Rochester man is returning to work eight months after the company he worked for 17 years fired him.

Webster commercial printing company Empire State Weeklies terminated Ron Foglia in September. He said he was fired for trying to organize a union.

The Graphic Communications Conference Local 503 challenged the company for letting Foglia go. Federal law states that it is not illegal to organize a union.

The National Labor Relations Board ruled that Empire State Weeklies had to rehire Foglia and provide him with back pay.

The company must also post a notice informing its employees about union rights.
