Food Processing Division

The Teamsters represent more than 60,000 workers in the food processing industry. These workers include mechanics, forklift drivers and other warehouse workers, machine operators and production line workers.

The top food processing employers are ConAgra Foods; Tyson Foods; Dole Food Co.; Cargill; Del Monte Foods; Pepsico, Inc.; J Heinz; Smithfield Foods; Taylor Fresh Foods, and Kraft.

These workers make a huge difference in all our lives, carefully preparing and processing a wide range of foods, including meats, vegetables, fruits and grains.

One of the newest division in the Teamsters Union, the division became distinct in early 2003 with an emphasis on organizing new workers and strengthening current contracts.
