Keep an Eye on New Hampshire

New Hampshire Republicans are quietly trying to pass anti-worker legislation. Last month, the House passed a Right to Work (for less) bill. The Senate has not taken up the measure yet.

Now, the House Finance Committee has added an amendment to the budget that would require all public sector employees to become “at will” workers when their contracts expire.

The amendment states that after contracts expire, “salaries, benefits and terms and conditions of employment will be at the discretion of the employer.”

Steve Arnold of the New Hampshire Police Benevolent Association, told the Portsmouth Herald that if passed, this bill would strip citizens of their democratic rights.
