Everyday, the Teamsters legislative staff with members of Congress and other political leaders to ensure good jobs stay here in the U.S., that workers are protected on the job and that you, our members, are provided with good wages and benefits.
The Government Affairs Department is committed to educating, mobilizing, and equipping our members to become an army of activists so that -- from the halls of Congress to the ballot box -- the Teamsters will speak with a unified and overwhelming voice.
This is the latest update of the Teamsters' continued efforts to support existing legislative and political programs, and implement new programs to further advance the goals of our members.
In addition to votes on important issues that have been taken, the Teamsters Union also considers cosponsorships of important bills an indicator of how members of Congress support working families. As these bills have not yet been voted on, they do not appear in our Congressional voting record; however, the Teamsters Union factors these cosponsorships into the legislator scorecard as well. Find out here if your Representative and Senators have signed on as cosponsors of the Employee Free Choice Act and TRADE Act.
