Local 42 Sponsors Stewards Seminar

On June 13, Local 42 in Lynn, Massachusetts hosted a stewards seminar with nearly all of the local's stewards in attendance. The training focused on the roles and responsibilities of the Teamster steward, the grievance process, and building membership participation.

Alice T. Riley-King, President of Local 42, welcomed the participants and thanked them for taking the time to attend. “All of the stewards at Local 42 do a fantastic job. We want to thank you for your hard work and let you know you have our confidence, respect, and support,” she said. “I trust today’s training will assist you in sharpening your skills.”

Bill Munger, Eastern Region Coordinator of the Teamsters Training and Development Department, conducted the program using a variety of activities and information. "It’s obvious the leadership of Local 42 is proud of their stewards. It was inspiring to observe the participants working together and the respect they have for their local’s leadership," Munger said.

"All of the topics discussed were very helpful and informative. I was very satisfied with the seminar and very proud to be a Teamster,” said steward Henry Check Jr.

Steward William Mitchell was also very satisfied with the program. “The presentation and materials provided were very informational. The program was fun too, which I think contributed to the learning process.”
