Scores of Las Vegas' Local 631 members donated blood December 27 at the local's hall. Following the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., Local 631 members wanted to do something to honor the victims. Although it has been more than three months since the attacks, Teamsters continue doing community service projects—such as this blood drive—to help their neighbors. "It was very successful," said Julie Morgan, a clerk for Local 631, who organized the event. United Blood Services sent its van to the local to collect the blood, which will be used by patients in the Las Vegas metro area.
