Michigan Carhaulers Tell Consumers About GM & Chrysler’s Raw Deal
October 23, 2009
Michigan television station KJRT-TV covered Teamster members who were out in force this past weekend as part of a national campaign to fight against the destruction of the carhaul industry by bailed-out auto giants General Motors and Chrysler.
The automakers received bailouts from taxpayers earlier this year, but are now demanding dramatic and unsustainable cost cuts from Teamster-represented carhaul companies, threatening hundreds of good-paying, skilled, middle-class jobs.
Members from the Flint, Saginaw and Bay City area handed out leaflets to consumers at local dealerships to help spread the word.
