Teamsters Local 2010 sent a loud and clear message to UC in May when hundreds of members throughout the state leafleted on the campuses and medical centers demanding better treatment in their workplaces.
Members of Teamsters Local 2010 — from Merced to San Diego — recently joined thousands of other Teamsters as they took to the streets of Los Angeles with several international unions to protest recent government and corporate attacks on the long held rights of employees to collectively bargain and improve conditions in their workplaces.
CUE-Teamsters delivered thousands of postcards to the state Capitol in early March, demanding language be placed in the proposed state budget bill that requires UC to adequately compensate our members before receiving its appropriations.
More and more University clerical and allied services employees are recognizing the value of being involved with the union. Whether it’s a stronger voice on the job, or learning about contract negotiating strategies, members have not been shy about expressing their com- mitment to become more active in CUE–Teamsters Local 2010.
CUE-Teamster members have been out in force on nearly every campus over the past month urging Chancellors to ask President Yudof and UC Regents to return to the bargaining table and bargain fairly for a good contract.
