  • On September 28, 2009, Stephen Greenberg, Esq. died in a tragic car accident in West Virginia. Steve, who had just turned 43, was counsel to Local 205, and one of the top attorneys in the Teamsters Legal Defense Fund.

  • President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder announced $2 billion in Recovery Act 2009 funding allocations for state and local law enforcement assistance available through the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

  • The supervisor with the Denver Sheriff's Department looked at Ed Bagwell's Teamsters shirt and said: "Nice bowling shirt." Bagwell looked back at the supervisor's uniform and muttered under his breath, "Nice clown suit."

  • Police officers in Winter Park voted overwhelmingly to join the Teamsters. The results of Tuesday’s election were 32-18. The officers will be members of Teamsters Local 385 in Orlando. There are 67 officers in the bargaining unit.

  • An arbitrator has ruled in favor of Bayside police officers and dispatchers represented by the Teamsters in a case involving a change in their health insurance that required them to pay more for less coverage.
