The Teamsters Support Fair Seniority Integration In A Merger

As we move closer and closer to filing for an election and becoming Teamsters at AA, we are encouraged by the fact that the Teamsters are taking proactive steps to prepare for a likely merger with US Airways in order to protect what we’ve earned and give us the strong representation that we deserve.

A new letter from Teamsters Airline Division Director David Bourne affirms that the Teamsters Airline Division supports and will fight for a fair seniority list integration (SLI) process during a merger between AA and US Air.

“The IBT-Airline Division’s date-of-hire SLI policy has been endorsed by the Airline Division Advisory Board,” Mr. Bourne writes. He adds that the Division is currently drafting a detailed policy statement on merger rules to be reviewed by the International Union.

This is the kind of representation we've been fighting for at AA. The Teamsters are committed to making sure that seniority integration in a merger respects our longevity as mechanics in the industry.
