Teamsters Urge Obama To Pursue Financial Re-Regulation at G-20 Summit
September 15, 2009
Later this month, leaders from 20 countries with the world’s biggest economies will meet in Pittsburgh for the so-called G-20 Summit.
They will discuss ways to promote a sound and sustainable recovery from the global financial crisis.
The Teamsters joined Americans for Financial Reform in urging President Obama to support a coordinated effort to put people back to work and to encourage the G-20 nations to do more to stimulate their economies.
In a letter dated Sept. 10, the group asked President Obama to push for minimum standards for financial regulation. The letter also advocated for a reverse of the global trend toward deregulation.
