The Teamsters Airline Division
represents over 40,000 workers in the aviation industry in every craft and
class. We have the strongest collective bargaining agreements in the country.
Our goal is to provide our membership with the best representation in the
industry and to give all workers in the aviation industry a voice at their job.
Teamsters have represented
aviation workers since the 1950s and are continuing to grow to help airline
workers.

Teamsters Rush to
Assist Crew in Kalitta
Teamsters officials rushed to Bogota immediately after they learned of a Kalitta
cargo plane crash involving crew members belonging to the union, Airline
Division Director David Bourne said Tuesday.

Soaring Fuel Costs
The Teamsters are pressuring Congress to act quickly to bring down the cost of oil. As the August recess approached, key members of Congress met with Airline Division Director David Bourne and the Government Affairs Division. They heard how soaring oil costs are hurting workers, and why curbing speculation will lower fuel prices.
UAL MECHANICS BALLOT REFERENDUM
United Airlines, Inc. has
proposed an amendment to the current contract that would replace the
participation of the Mechanics and Related group in the company’s Performance
Incentive Program (PIP) with a 1-percent wage increase.

TEAMSTERS AVIATION MECHANICS COALITION
The Teamsters represent 18,000
aviation mechanics and related workers. To better serve their interests we have
formed the Teamsters Aviation Mechanics Coalition. The coalition is led by a
steering committee of mechanics from the 14 Teamster
carriers. The coalition
has played a leading role in exposing and fighting unsafe outsourcing practices, organizing mechanics and related into the Teamsters, lobbying on issues of
importance and more.
VICTORY AT UNITED AIRLINES
Congratulations and welcome to
our new Teamster brothers and sisters at UAL. On May 31, 2008, more than
9,000 aviation mechanics at UAL voted to join the Teamsters Union. UAL’s
mechanics worked hard for two years to become Teamsters and overcame huge
obstacles. Their efforts paid off with a remarkable 78 percent voter turnout that
sent a strong message to the company that the UAL mechanics want change.
