The Teamsters Union is the most powerful union in the DHL system, bar none. I’m proud that more than 12,500 workers at DHL Express, ABX Air and throughout the DHL system are Teamsters, and we’re dedicated to helping you and thousands of your coworkers secure the benefits of Teamster representation.

In shipping and union representation, results speak for themselves. Throughout the DHL system, Teamsters have secured substantial wage increases, affordable health benefits and dignity on the job. ABX Air pilots are among the best-paid pilots in the air cargo industry. Workers at DHL Express, DHL Danzas and other companies in the DHL system work with the protection of solid contracts. DHL gateway workers at JFK Airport, along with other coworkers across the country, have secured wage increases, pension contributions and 100 percent employer-paid health premiums.

In June ’06, we reviewed the successes DHL Teamsters have secured and we vowed to continue to build Teamster strength throughout the DHL system. This resolution is unprecedented and I'm proud that DHL workers, both Teamsters and those working to become Teamsters, have responded enthusiastically to it.

DHL has grown from a German mail carrier into a multinational corporation, and the Teamsters Union has the vision necessary to thrive in this global system. We fight to make sure our members’ interests are not ignored. The union that represents German DHL workers, ver.di, recognized the Teamsters as the union best suited to meet the needs of workers in the DHL system in the U.S.

I urge you to become Teamsters, joining us in our struggle for fairness and social justice. You and all workers in the DHL system deserve good, solid jobs.
