Smart Mark is a 10-hour safety and health training
program that prepares workers to identify hazards and prevent on-the-job
accidents. It was developed by The Construction Industry Partnership, a
national labor-management committee of seven national contractor
associations and 15 international unions. The International Brotherhood of
Teamsters (IBT), along with other international building trades affiliates,
serves as the gateway for participation in Smart Mark. By completing the
10-hour Smart Mark program, members will be entitled to receive an
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour construction
safety and health outreach program card (“OSHA Card”).
